Job description
Our client, based in Staffordshire, is currently recruiting for an Outreach Worker on a 4-month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is £16.80 per hour via an Umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable individuals either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, hold an enhanced DBS taken out within the last three years and also have access to their own vehicle.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Responding to rough sleeper outreach calls across Staffordshire with a caseload of up to 10
- Supporting customers with additional complex needs including substance misuse and mental health
- Providing support and guidance to service users and signposting them to additional support services
- Helping customers to find suitable accommodation and helping to source this
- Giving advice on welfare benefits and advising customers on their entitlements
- Working alongside other agencies to deliver on the support outreach programme, for example additional services specialising in substance misuse support
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Experience supporting homeless individuals
- Previous experience working with vulnerable individuals with complex needs, suffering from substance misuse or ASB is beneficial
- Strong understanding of safeguarding
- Warm and personable approach
Working hours:
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday-Friday. 9am-5pm (Occasional work outside of these hours, 7am – 7pm)
