Job description
We are currently working in partnership with an Dorset-based organisation, who are looking to appoint a Remote Allocations Officer for a 3 month contract.
This will be a full-time fully remote position, that is offering a respectable rate between £22-£24 via an Umbrella Company.
The ideal candidate must have Locata and choice-based letting experience within a council or housing association.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Be responsible for administering allocation of social rented and supported accommodation in accordance with the local authorities’ policies and Housing Act 1996 Part 6 requirements
To provide a first point of contact for social and supported housing landlords regarding property availability, property adverts, nominations, and refusals
Responding to day-to-day queries regarding the allocations policy
To maintain an awareness of housing demands of those with accommodation needs such as emergency homeless, specialised adapted or bespoke need
Carrying out all necessary verification checks including credit references, address and identification checks to prevent fraud and ensure appropriate nominations to social and supported accommodation
Experience required:
Experience required in Allocations and Lettings for a Housing provider
Must have experience using the Housing system Locata
The ideal candidate must have prior knowledge of choice-based lettings
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Ability to talk with vulnerable client group and have difficult situations
Ability to manage your own diary
Keep on time of your own work, priorities and ability to lone work
Strong IT skills required
