Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Essex, who are recruiting for an Income Officer on a temporary six-month contract.

The position is due to start immediately. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable based on previous experience and they offer a 50% hybrid working pattern.

The ideal candidate will have proven Rents Officer experience, drive and have access to their own vehicle.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Clearing a backlog of rent arrear cases, acting as the first point of contact for residents who have fallen into arrears

  • Distributing warning letters

  • Establishing repayment plans

  • Providing welfare and benefits advice

  • No court or eviction attendance

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Good time management and organisational skills

  • Ability to work flexibly and respond quickly to changing demands, while meeting deadlines

  • Experience of delivering high quality customer service

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
