Job description

We are currently working in partnership with an Educational Institution based in North West London, who are recruiting for a HR Officer on a temporary 10 week contract. The position is due to start at the beginning of July. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable based on experience.

Please note, you need to have an Enhanced DBS within the last 3 months or be on the update service.

The ideal candidate must have experience of liasing with senior stakeholders, advising on queries when needed and extensive experience in line with the end to end recruitment process.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting the Head of HR with ER casework such as sickness absence, grievances, performance management and disciplinaries

  • Providing generalist advice and support, resolving individual queries in respect of terms and conditions of service, including pay and benefits as required

  • Assisting the Head of HR in researching, developing, implementing and effectively communicating HR policies and procedures in line with legislation, best practice and the organisations needs

  • Leading on the end to end recruitment process for all vacancies using the ATS including advertisements, arranging interviews and candidate management etc

  • Managing the onboarding process such as liasing with succesful candidates, issuing offer letters and contracts and completing all pre-employment safeguarding checks such as an Enhanced DBS

  • Maintaining the HRIS, relevant spreadsheets and reports to SLT with the details of applicants and employee starters and leavers

  • Liasing with payroll, ensuring new starters, leavers and changes to salaries or hours are actioned appropriately

Experience required:

  • Experience undertaking HR processes within a busy office environment

  • Experience of using initiative to resolve problems, identifying practical and suitable solutions

  • Experience of planning, prioritising and organising personal workload to deadlines with minimal supervision

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Up to date GDPR and confidentiality knowledge

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills

  • Attention to detail with the ability to maintain high accuracy under pressure

  • Confidence and ability to challenge actions that go against the organisations policies

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
