Job description

We are currently representing a Social Housing provider in the West Midlands, who are dedicated to empowering their residents and fostering confidence and success within the community. They’re looking for a Gas Compliance Officer to join their team.

The role is a three to six month temporary contract, the position is due to start immediately. The daily rate is £300 - £350 per day dependent upon experience.

The ideal candidate will be Gas Safe Registered and have a multitude of experience managing outsourced gas contractors.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing the Gas safety & compliance contract (outsourced) for a housing stock

  • Ensuring the effective delivery of the contract, attaining quality and competition within timeframes, with certification

  • Liaising effectively with key stakeholders regarding the ongoing Gas safety contract

  • Responsible for monitoring KPIs of the contractors and challenging their completed work

  • Conducting meetings with contractors, agreeing improvements and reviewing performance against targets

  • Completing inspections on Gas compliance works and identify any shortfallings, recommending remedial action

  • Ensuring updated certification and documentation is on record and that all invoices are processed accurately

Experience required:

  • Must be Gas Safe Registered

  • You must have experience collaborating with contractors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery that meets compliance standards and the needs of residents

  • Proven background in leading on ensuring health and safety compliance, conducting quality assurance checks, and providing technical expertise

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Experience of building and maintaining relationships with contractors, tenants and staff across different functions

  • Awareness of statutory and regulatory requirements relating to asset compliance.

  • Strong IT and Excel skills

  • Good attention to detail

  • Good written and verbal communication skill

  • A sound understanding of financial controls

  • Able to demonstrate Guinness behavioural competencies

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday 9AM – 5PM

  • Four days in the office/on site, one from home
