We are currently working in partnership with a City Council in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for a Commercial Solicitor to join the team on a long-term locum basis until the end of March 2025.

The role offers remote working and a rate in the region of £60p/hour UMB.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Handling a caseload of commercial matters, and providing advice to the client department on day to day matters and major projects

• Drafting and negotiating goods and services contracts, framework agreements, funding agreements, variation to existing contracts and collaboration agreements, and providing a range of advice on procurement law, subsidy control and contractual matters

• Advising on the legal risks of particular courses of action including procurement and subsidy control considerations

• Ensuring that the Council’s contractual arrangements adhere to governance requirements

Working hours:

• 36 hours per week

• Monday – Friday
