Job description
We are currently partnering with a leading Housing Association, who are recruiting for a Carpenter to join their growing team on a temporary basis until the end of March working 40 hours per week Monday – Friday.
This is a full-time position being either in a South London or North London patch, with a daily rate of pay of £25.55 per hour umbrella.
A basic DBS will be needed for the role, vans and tools with be provided.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Carry out any and all responsive repairs as directed across multi trades such as adjusting door/window frames and furniture, repair / replace locks, renew skirting / architrave / ball valve, domestic water tank, etc
Act as the Direct Labour Organisation’s (DLO’s) expert carpenter; advise others on carpentry tasks they are required to perform and help train Repair Assistants on the carpentry trade
Identify the correct materials and tools for each job and collect and transport materials to site ensuring that all stock/materials audit procedures are adhered to
Hold primary responsibility for the woodwork shop in terms of use, cleanliness and tidiness, compliance with health and safety regulations, security and stock and materials
Liaise with office-based staff, residents or their representatives and outside bodies/staff to ensure appointments are kept and access arrangements are handled in a proper and timely manner
Review and record repair work specified both before and during jobs, reporting back on any additional work required or the need for an alternative design solution
Ensure that all compliance issues that come to your attention e.g., health and safety, vandalism and antisocial behaviour are identified, documented, reported and remedied in a timely fashion
Experience required:
Experience within a Maintenance environment
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Carpentry expertise
Multi-trade knowledge and skills
