Job description

Our client, a Local Authority based in the North-West, is currently recruiting for a locum Adult Social Care Lawyer on an initial 3-month contract.

The position is due to start immediately and the hourly rate is circa £45 - £55 p/hour via an Umbrella company, but this is negotiable subject to PQE and candidate expectations.

The role can be conducted fully remotely, and previous Local Government experience will be essential for the role.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Acting in court of protection matters, including COPDOL11s, Section 16 applications, S.21A Challenges
  • Advising on all aspects of adult safeguarding law, including Ordinary Residence queries, Funding Queries – CHC and general finance, Deferred Payment Agreements, S.117 responsibilities
  • Advising on the duties of the organisation under the Care Act 2014
  • Advising on plans and assessments for vulnerable adults
  • Reviewing and drafting key ASC policies

Experience required:

  • Strong Adult Social Care experience
  • Relevant Professional Qualification – Solicitor, Barrister, FCILEX

Working hours:

  • 5 days per week
