Job description

​We are currently partnering with an independent Housing Association based in the East of England who are recruiting for a Surveyor on a six to eight week temporary basis.

The role is full time, 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday and has flexible working hours. The rate is £30.00 - £35.00 per hour on an umbrella basis.

They’re looking for somebody who has a passion for Social Housing, has a versatile surveying background and has previously carried out pre and post inspections.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Carrying out a range of surveys and property inspections including damp and mould, pre, post and work in progress inspections relating to the property stock and grounds maintenance

  • Surveying, evaluating, programming, implementing and overseeing work within the district in domestic properties, including quality control inspections

  • Completing reports following inspections

  • Monitoring and managing the delivery of day-to-day works, raising and issuing orders and ensuring repairs are updated

  • Ensuring customer needs are properly understood and works are completed to a good standard and in line with the organisations policy and procedures

  • Ensuring contractors and suppliers perform to specification and contractual terms, reporting into the Contracts Manager

  • Visiting properties in order to undertake initial inspections to diagnose damp and mould

Experience required:

  • You need to be an organised person who can balance and prioritise their workload within a designated patch

  • You will have a customer centric approach with a focus on getting it right first time, ideally you will be a pragmatic decision maker and able to think on your feet

  • Experience in Repairs & Maintenance surveying is essential

  • You will have a Full UK Driving licence

  • Knowledge of current legislation around Damp & Mould is beneficial for this role

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday
