Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in North Wales, who are looking for a Head of Governance on a fixed-term basis until February 2026. The position is due to start immediately, and offers a salary of circa £50,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have experience within a regulatory environment, supporting with Governance and Compliance across the organisation.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Advising and guiding the management team and Board members on statutory, constitutional and regulatory requirements

  • Organising, planning and co-ordinating the Calendar of Meetings for the Board & Committees, approximately 40 meetings per annum, and any ad hoc member activities

  • Preparing and presenting reports and meeting packs to the Board and Executive Leadership Team on Governance matters

  • Supporting the review of Board & Executive decision-making processes, proposing any appropriate changes

  • Preparing and submitting the Annual Board Diversity Return and Regulatory Framework

  • Managing and supervising Governance Officers, providing technical guidance and work-related development support

Experience required:

  • Experience required in a regulatory environment

  • Strong experience managing Governance processes and procedures

  • Experience having ownership of Board & Committee meetings

  • Providing proactive support to Senior Management

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Confident dealing with senior stakeholders, including Board & Committee members

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Knowledge of governance structures and legislation
