Job description

Are you a Housing Officer looking for an exciting new challenge across the South West? Well, we are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association, who are looking to appoint a Housing Officer on a permanent basis!

This will be a full-time position based around Bristol, South Gloucester and Cardiff! The working are 37 hours per week and will be mostly home based with travel around the patch with a brilliant salary of £33,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a similar role, have access to their own vehicle and an enhanced DBS.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting vulnerable clients with general housing management issues, such as ASB queries, tenancy management and income support

  • Monitoring and managing rent accounts, ensuring arrears are addressed in line with organisation procedures up to 500 properties

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals, maintaining regular contact and facilitating a co -produced planned programme of support

  • Assisting individuals to identify and access appropriate move on accommodation

  • Assessing the support needs and risks of individuals, with mid-high level of safeguarding in line with the organisation support delivery and risk management procedures

  • Working in partnership with external agencies to facilitate the effective delivery of support and improve outcomes for those receiving our services

  • Delivering welfare benefits and budgeting advice to individuals to ensure income maximisation

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge of housing management policies and procedures

  • Experience delivering income management

  • Ability to build strong and positive working relationships/partnerships
