Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Bury, Trafford and Stockport, who are recruiting for a Support Worker on an 8 Month Fixed Term contract. The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to get extended with a salary of £28,960.00

The ideal candidate will have an enhanced DBS, be able to drive in the UK and have experience working with Young adults (18-25) who are at risk of homelessness.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Building relationships with young people to break down barriers to engagement

  • Supporting Young people to maintain their living circumstances, working to remove any housing issues they may encounter

  • Interacting with the service users to make t6hem feel involved in the community and feel pride in where they live

  • Attend multi agency meetings, advocating on behalf of the individual to create positive change for all involved

  • Carrying out risk assessments and support plans in line with the Housing Associations rulings

  • Communicating with external agencies to help meet immediate support needs, enhancing opportunities for clients as well as referral pathways

  • Building relationships with landlords to enhance move-on options

  • Helping individuals move to their new home

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Supported Housing

  • Experience working with Young Adults (18-25) who are at risk of homelessness

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Building a good report with tenants

  • Being able to understand different tenants circumstances, changing the way you think about things

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
