Job description

​Our client is an Investors in People Gold accredited organisation and they are currently recruiting for a Finance Business Partner on a permanent basis.

The position is due to start – subject to notice - on a full-time basis and the salary on offer is paying up to £55,000 per annum based on experience, with additional benefits.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA) or a finalist with relevant experience with statutory and consolidated accounts.

Please note this role will require a basic DBS check

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Reporting into the Assistant Director of Finance and overseeing one Accounts Assistant, providing training where necessary to ensure that staff can meet the objectives of the team

  • Responsible for the provision of financial accounts for all subsidiary and joint venture companies within the Group, by maintaining financial accounting records and producing annual statutory accounts

  • Leading on the process of creating annual budgets for subsidiary/joint venture companies within the Group, and to oversee the monitoring of these budgets against plan.

  • Preparing and presenting financial reports to respective Boards, highlighting the financial performance of each subsidiary and joint venture as appropriate

  • Reconciling the fixed asset register with the nominal ledger for each Subsidiary and Joint Venture Group company

  • Developing and operating various accounting controls within the Finance function, relating to balance sheet reconciliations, account monitoring and core financial controls

  • Providing a full suite of balance sheet reports for all subsidiary and joint venture companies within the Group, including forensic analysis of accounts

Experience/skills required:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA) OR a finalist - essential

  • At least two years’ experience preparing financial and management accounts - essential

  • Preparation of statutory and consolidated accounts

  • Presentation of complex financial information to senior management and stakeholders

  • Knowledge of interpreting accounting legislation and guidelines

  • Knowledge of applicable VAT treatment for all transactions

  • Experience of Open Accounts, Orchard or iTrent, as well as Excel intermediate

  • Knowledge of the Social Housing sector - desirable
