Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for Stock Condition Surveyors on a 6–12 month temporary contract in Derbyshire. Our client is an award winning, multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy, delivering projects throughout the UK and Europe.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The rates are:
- £32 LTD per survey for Houses/Blocks
- £22 LTD per survey for Flats
The ideal candidate will have a background in repairs and maintenance or building surveying and have knowledge of domestic energy assessments. They will also have Stock Condition Surveying experience in social housing properties.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Conducting stock condition surveys on social housing units to ensure buildings are designed and constructed appropriately
- Understanding of domestic energy assessments in order to fill out a small number of questions in each of the surveys
- Using knowledge and understanding of fire safety compliance including approved document part B
- Recording all information and data on electronic handheld devices
- Liaising and engaging with residents in regards to the work being carried out
- Working in accordance with changing legislations, as well as H&S policies and procedures
Experience required:
- Stock Condition Surveying experience for social housing properties
- A Higher National Certificate (HNC) in a construction-related field, which is considered equivalent to the first year of a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree
- A NVQ Level 4 in a construction-based course, which is also equivalent to an HNC
- A BSc degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Understanding of fire safety compliance and domestic energy assessments
- Must hold a full UK driving license
