Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a leading UK charity, who are looking to appoint Service Manager on a permanent basis to help support adults with Learning Disabilities.
This will be a full-time position based in Tiverton and is offering an impressive salary £39,140.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for 4 direct reports (Deputy Service Managers). The perfect candidate will coach and manage all Deputy Service Managers (DSMs) whilst still retaining overall people management accountability for all Support Workers within their setting/location group.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):

Ensuring every person, in service has a dynamic life plan, which involves the person, takes account of that individual’s needs and is reviewed regularly
Effective management of the rota, payroll processes, supervision, annual leave, sickness absence management, capability and all other formal people matters as and when they arise
Complete audits and verification of audits, report on findings and develop plans to maintain or improve standards
Ensure the safe use of medicines, including the collection of prescriptions, administration and storage of medication for the people we support
Co-ordinate all matters relating to medication, ensuring all procedures are rigorously followed and all support colleagues are appropriately trained
Experience required:
Recent significant experience at a frontline management in field of learning disabilities in a regulated services environment
Experience of ensuring effective team communications, leading and motivating a team, coaching and mentoring
Committed to the principle of involving the people we support in developing the service
Effective and efficient rota design and management
Assessment and care planning for supported people
Experience of acting as a role model for good care practice involving the people we support
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Ability to lead and manage people to achieve a positive culture and be a role model in all aspects of people leadership especially performance
Ability to communicate effectively with a supported person and their family/circle of support and other professionals
Ability to challenge poor practice and behaviour
Ability to undertake assessment, support planning, recording and report writing
Manage time and resources effectively and efficiently
Ability to respond professionally, quickly, and flexibly in a crisis
Ability to lead and manage change
Working hours:
37.5 hours per week
Including weekend working and evenings
Also, on call duty roster requirement
