Job description

Our client, based in Hull, is currently recruiting for a Tenancy Sustainment Worker on a three-month temporary contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is £16.00 per hour via an Umbrella Company.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable, homeless adults, hold an enhanced DBS taken out within the last three years and also have access to their own vehicle.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting residents when moving in, or out of accommodation

  • Assessing the circumstances, aspirations and needs of each resident in order to make a support plan that is relevant to the resident and realistic in its achievement

  • Making sure residents pay the rent due as required by the occupancy agreement, assisting residents with their benefit claims where necessary

  • Building links with external organisations, to maintain constructive working relations and ensuring resident’s needs are met

  • Participating in office duty arrangements

  • Providing cover for absent Housing Support Assistants & Supported Housing Assistant

  • Acting as residents’ keyworker offering advice and support to negotiated and agreed support planning to enable them to develop their skills for independent living

  • Offering support and motivation to residents encouraging them to achieve personal goals

  • Carrying out regular resident risk assessment and ensuring it is properly recorded and copied to relevant officers in the organisation

  • Reviewing support plans periodically and adapting them according to changing needs

  • Assisting residents to maximise their income and to manage their personal budgets

  • Supporting residents to understand their rights and responsibilities under their occupancy agreements

Experience required:

  • Providing housing support and assistance

  • Conducting and reviewing risk assessments

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Strong knowledge of housing welfare and benefits

  • Be able to create and review support plans

Working hours:

  • 37.00 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
