Job description
Our client, based in Wolverhampton, is currently recruiting for a Senior Environmental Health Officer on a 3 month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The day rate is £350 per day via umbrella for this position.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in private sector housing and have access to their own vehicle.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Assisting the Service Manager Private Sector Housing in the assessment of enquiries and applications for licensing and other schemes under the Housing Act 2004
Surveying and inspecting dwellings either as individual properties or in groups of properties to establish conditions and breaches of statutory provisions and following service of notices and orders
Preparing schedules of work in relation to bringing dwellings up to the required standard and monitor
Carrying out inspections of houses in multiple occupation in connection with licensing, accreditation and current legislation and other standards as adopted by the Council
Preparing formal and informal notices and orders and to monitor action taken in response to them in relation to single and multiple occupancies
Collating and preparing evidence and in Court processes in respect of relevant work and to attend Court and public inquiries
Experience required:
Private Sector Housing
Working with customers within housing
Housing Act 2004

Risk assessment and management
Financial management and budgeting
Compliance and due diligence
Inspections
Court orders and proceedings
