Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in East Midlands, who are recruiting for a Repairs Scheduler on a temporary three-month contract. The position is due to start January 2024, with the hourly rate of pay being £16 to £18 per hour via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have experience within social housing and a knowledge of scheduling repairs and maintenance.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting the drive to reduce wait times for appointments, and booking in works not yet appointed

  • Customer led scheduling of works, to both in-house team and external contractors

  • Liaising with tenants over the phone and via email to take down repair requests for domestic Social Housing properties

  • Scheduling for Trade Operatives to complete the required repairs/maintenance works and diary manage for all Operatives effectively

  • Checking that all jobs are completed or rescheduled at end of each day, ensuring all time slots are correct and tenants are aware of appointment timings

  • Ensuring all call back appointments are arranged to complete outstanding/defective work and reschedule any follow-on work reported by Operatives from site

  • Rescheduling any ‘no access’ visits and notifying colleagues where no access requires tenancy intervention

  • Liaising with Operatives and tenants, answering any queries and resolving any issues where possible

  • Providing a high level of customer service at all times, acting as a main point of contact for repairs enquiries and requests

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Must be able to hit the ground running, being able to adapt quickly to new IT systems and processes

  • Have a customer first approach

  • Possess a can-do attitude

  • Must have previous experience in social housing

  • Be able to work on own initiative and make own decisions

  • Be able to direct and motivate staff to succeed

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong teamwork skills

  • Ability to work in a busy environment

  • Knowledge of scheduling and repairs

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
