​We are delighted to be representing a Social Housing organisation based in South East England, who are looking to appoint a new Rent & Service Charge Officer on a permanent vacancy.

This will be a full-time position offering hybrid working and are offering a permanent salary banding of £38,000 - £40,000.

​

The client is looking for previous experience of rent and service charge processes and basic accounting principles.

​

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Carrying out the rent modelling & setting of new rents and service charges

• Preparing and sending rent & service charges notification to all residents

• Ensuring that leasehold management and service charges are applied accurately and within terms of the leases and current legislation

• Ensuring that annual statements issued to leaseholders within statutory time limits

• Responsible for annual external service charge audit

• Setting and monitoring rent & service charge income budgets and budgets for all other income including reconciliations of income accounts and income related balance sheet accounts

• Dealing with queries regarding service charges

• Liaising with property services on recharging for major works and provide information as required for S20s

• Calculating final charges for freehold reversions

• Overseeing all sinking funds and advise property services

Experience and skills required:

• Prior experience of dealing with rent and service charge processes

• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles

• Thorough understanding of Landlord and Tenant legislation and best practice for setting of fixed and variable service charges

• Ability to organise own workload and meet challenging deadlines, often in the face of competing priorities, with minimal supervision
