We are currently partnering with a local authority, who are recruiting for a Housing Assistant to join their Allocations team on a short-term temporary contract.

This is a great opportunity for a housing professional with experience dealing with social housing applications.

This is a full-time position with a pay rate of £17.00 per hour via an Umbrella company. This role is due to start immediately.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Assisting with the delivery of allocation services in particular maintenance of waiting list including processing housing applications

• Undertaking the assessment, investigation and verification processes for housing applications within specified timescales

• Identifying any issues in relation to their application or potential fraud

• Ensuring issues are dealt with appropriately or passed to the relevant team

• Providing advice to housing applicants and tenants on re-housing matters

• Answering the phones, dealing with Housing queries and going back to the email inbox

• Processing medical & social need referrals and other supporting information provided in relation to housing applications

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Previous experience dealing with social housing applications is beneficial

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Be a motivated and dedicated individual

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week

• Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
