Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Bedfordshire, who are recruiting for a Property Services Manager on a permanent basis. The position is due to start pending notice periods and the salary on offer is £45,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate must have experience in repair and maintenance in residential properties and line management.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Playing an important operational management role, being responsible for delivering a high-quality, efficient customer service covering maintenance, repairs and voids
  • Acting as the in-house specialist in component replacement activity, supporting the operational Property Services team in providing quality data-led information on the age and condition of components and stock; also being responsible for having oversight of our compliance and health & safety frameworks
  • Leading in the line management of the multi skilled in-house team, Scheduler and Compliance Lead, providing guidance, support and motivation; implementing positive and effective performance management
  • Managing subcontractors, ensuring that the systems that underpin these services are regularly reviewed and up to date
  • Implementing the compliance management and asset management monitoring systems and utilising these to inform the programmes required for the future management of homes
  • Carrying out, cyclical, and planned maintenance activities across a number of workstreams; providing support in analysing and improving the processes resulting in improved quality, productivity, and efficiency

Experience required:

  • A track record of successful leadership and management of a frontline property services function in a customer-facing organisation
  • Good working knowledge of building construction, building regulations and health and safety legislation
  • Evidence of successfully leading a team at a senior level
  • Experience of leading and managing change and creating a culture of continuous improvement
  • Evidence of being a team player who can support and promote corporate objectives
  • Evidence of inspirational leadership, successful performance management, business partnering and an entrepreneurial approach
  • Experience of delivering high standards of customer service to all customers, internal and external
  • Experience of managing and overseeing all aspects of H&S and Compliance
  • Working knowledge of accessing and updating information on a properties database
  • Business/commercial values & insight, value for money
  • Financial experience/ budgetary control
  • Risk management strategy development

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
