Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in Staffordshire, who are looking to appoint a Property Lawyer on a locum basis, for 6-months initially.

This will be a full-time position, offering hybrid working with attendance required in office for paperwork and document sealing. The role offers a rate of circa £50 p/hour UMB, negotiable subject to PQE.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Handling a mixed caseload of property law matters for the Council, including negotiating and drafting leases and lease renewals, handling licenses to underlet, title investigations, sales of land, transfers of public open space and general property queries

  • Working alongside a Fee Earner, handling Right to Buy matters, and assisting with some leasehold matters and title investigations

  • Managing and updating cases, and time recording via the IKEN case management system

Experience required:

  • Property Law

  • Experience within the Local Government sector

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday to Friday
