Job description

We are currently partnering with a Housing Association, who are recruiting for a Property Compliance and Asset Officer to join their growing team on a permanent basis, working 35 hours per week Monday – Friday.

This is a full-time position being in West London, with a salary of £30,000 to £35,000 dependent on experience.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Plan and execute annual gas safety checks, ensuring access to all dwellings

  • Develop and maintain mechanisms for annual inspections of all heating and fuel systems

  • Maintain accurate records for all compliance programs (both digital and physical)

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and HSE (Health & Safety Executive) requirements

  • Work closely with the Health & Safety Officer to ensure proper fire safety compliance

  • Manage budgets and resources to optimize service levels and ensure timely payments

  • Provide colleagues with detailed service charge estimates for tenants and leaseholders

  • Experience required:

    • Heating servicing (gas, oil, solid fuel, LPG, ASHP, renewables, and electric) for both individual and communal systems

    • Asbestos management (Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012)

    • Water hygiene and safety (Approved Code of Practice L8)

    • Passenger lift safety (Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998)

    • Electrical safety (Portable Appliance Testing and NIC EIC inspection programs)

    • Fire safety compliance (including fire alarm testing per British Standards)

    • Septic tank maintenance (General Binding Rules Environmental Permitting Regulations 2014)

    Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

    • A recognised qualification in building or a related field, or equivalent experience

    • Proven experience in managing maintenance projects in residential properties

    • Strong IT skills, particularly in database management

    • Understanding and commitment to the social housing and/or community development sector
