Job description

We are currently working in partnership with an Academy Trust based in Birmingham, who are recruiting for a National Procurement Manager on a permanent contract.

The position is due to start as soon as possible (dependent upon notice period). The salary available is c.£69,000. This is a predominantly remote position which will require infrequent travel to the office.

The ideal candidate will be CIPS qualified, however this is not essential.


Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing £60m spend across all directorates including IT, Property, Estates and Insurance

  • Overseeing all aspects of tenders and compliance, reporting and making recommendations to the Board

  • Taking full ownership of the overall procurement plan and strategy of the Trust

  • Procuring major work streams, systems services and advisors

  • Working with key stakeholders to implement procurement strategies, maintain key business contracts and develop supplier relationships

Experience required:

  • Previous experience in a similar role at a senior level

  • Education/Public Sector experience is preferred but not essential

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • CIPS qualification is desirable

  • Knowledge of Public Contract Regulations 2015
