We are currently working in partnership with a housing association in Leicester, who are recruiting for a Mental Health Support Worker on a short term temporary contract with the potential to extend or become a permanent position. The position is part time 20-30 hours per week and offers a pay rate of £16.50 per hour via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have worked with vulnerable adults with complex mental health needs including diagnoses such as Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders, Bipolar disorder or neurodiversity.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Supporting vulnerable service users across 5 different supported housing schemes in Leicester

• Providing quality support to clientele with dual diagnoses including but not limited to; Schizophrenia, Neurodiversity, Personality Disorders and Bipolar

• Take a collaborative approach with other support workers to work towards individual support plans

• Promote positive well-being for service users encouraging them to take part in community and group activities

• Support service users with additional housing support including welfare and housing benefit claims

• Work collaboratively with external agencies and support services

• Assist service users with personal financial planning and budgeting to avoid rent arrears or debt

• Take a positive and encouraging approach when supporting service users to promote independence within the living complex and community

Experience required:

• Previous experience working with vulnerable individuals with complex mental health needs

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Must hold an enhanced DBS certificate

• Must have a full drivers license and access to a vehicle
