Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a private market-leading consultancy firm based in London, who are recruiting for a CDM Principal Designer & Advisor on a permanent contract. There is also an opportunity in their Manchester office.

The position is due to start on notice. The salary is circa £43,500 dependent on experience for the opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have broad range of experience across sectors & projects including Local Authorities, Education, Commercial Sectors, New Build, Refurbishment and hold a full UK driving license.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting site inspections, audits, advice, monitoring of key gateways and information including risk & method statements, operations & maintenance and health & safety file

  • Carrying out regular CDM site audits and attending progress meetings

  • Working alongside the Head of Construction Design & Management, under their ISO 9001 Quality Management System

  • Compiling Health & Safety files during the project for the client at handover

  • Assisting clients to manage health and safety risks by delivering a bespoke service

Experience required:

  • Experience in a CDM role in relevant sectors

  • Evidence of producing typical documentation in relation to the role including Design Risk Registers

  • Evidence of leading projects as a CDM Principal Designer & Advisor from inception through to completion

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Excellent communication, management and team working skills

  • Understanding of the design hazard elimination process

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday

  • 9am-5pm
