Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a private practice based in Birmingham, who are recruiting for a Mechanical & Electrical Clerk of Works on a permanent contract. The position is due to start soon with a salary between £50,000-£65,000.

The ideal candidate will be a chartered member or in process of obtaining ICWCI, CIOB, CIBSE or RICS. They will possess a recognised M&E degree and experience in Fieldview software.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting thorough design reviews to ensure quality and compliance

  • Inspecting ongoing works to maintain high standards and meet project specifications

  • Preparing and submitting comprehensive on site visits and reports

  • Maintaining a detailed progress diary and recording delays alongside weather conditions and visitor logs

  • Keeping a meticulous observation tracker of non-compliant items

  • Offering assistance to the project team in evaluation drawings during the pre-construction phase when required

  • Performing snagging/pre-handover inspections and end of defect inspections

Experience required:

  • Chartered membership or working towards; ICWCI, CIOB, CIBSE, RICS

  • M&E degree

  • Fieldview software
