Job description
We are currently partnering with a Suffolk based Council, who are recruiting for a Litigation Lawyer to support their team on a temporary 3–6-month basis.
This is a full-time position with a negotiable rate and the start date is as soon as possible. This role is hybrid with office attendance required once a week, preferably on Wednesday or Thursday.
There is limited Court attendance required with this role.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Conducting advocacy at the Magistrates, Crown and County Court as required on behalf of the Council
Representing the Council in meetings with other authorities, government departments and other bodies
Efficiently manage case work in accordance with departmental procedures
Keep up to date with changes in law, and bringing this to the attention of relevant client departments
The ideal candidate will have experience looking at Debt Recovery for care home fees and previous Local Government experience, in addition to the following areas:
Planning enforcement
Drainage and Highways
Adverse possession
Human rights claims
Working hours:
30-37 hours per week
They are also open to offering condensed hours
