Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a government organisation, who are looking to appoint a Lead Engagement Manager on an 8-month temporary contract.
This will be a full-time position based in Birmingham, with hybrid working (2 days WFH) and a daily rate of up to £650 p/day.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a senior communications role with a focus on stakeholder engagement in a complex political or technical environment
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Developing and implementing engagement strategies to effectively communicate with key stakeholders, serving as a primary liaison between internal and external partners
Crafting and executing communication plans that meet the needs of stakeholders
Coordinating and supporting joint initiatives and ensuring consistent messaging and collaboration across different platforms and audiences
Working closely with leadership staff to ensure internal messages are aligned with external communications and strategic goals
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, adjusting as necessary to improve outcomes
Experience required:
Proven experience in a senior communications role, with a focus on stakeholder engagement in a complex political or technical environment
Ability to develop and implement strategic communication plans that drive engagement.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all level
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences
Experience working with or within government, transport, or related sectors is highly desirable
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Proactive and hands-on, with a strategic mindset and the ability to anticipate and respond to emerging issues
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Collaborative and team-oriented, with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture
Familiarity with the structures and functions of local and regional authorities is an advantage
