Job description

We are currently partnering with a leading organization in Northamptonshire, who are recruiting for a Team Leader to join their growing supported housing team on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time position with a salary of £30,000 per year and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing a team of Tenancy Support Workers ensuring high levels of service are maintained and procedures are followed correctly across the team

  • Conducting regular audits across the team to ensure work is being completed to a high standard

  • Holding team meetings on a weekly and monthly basis

  • Providing advice to customers in high-risk circumstances, including at risk of eviction

  • Managing a small case load of customers, keeping clear record of their situation

  • Assisting customers in completing housing applications and housing benefit forms

  • Challenging Section 184 decisions which have been made by Local Authorities relation to the Homeless Reduction Act 2017

  • Offering advice to tenants attending tribunals regarding their financial circumstances

  • Signposting customers to additional support organisations to help maintain their tenancies

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role within social housing is essential for this role

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding

  • A motivating ‘can-do’ attitude to work

  • 37 hours per week
