Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a large, Manchester based, Housing Association who are looking to appoint an Income Officer on a permanent basis.

This will be a full-time position based in Manchester, with hybrid working (2/3 days home working) and a salary of £30,000.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of income management and be comfortable in chasing both current and former rent arrears.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Monitoring all rent arrears cases, generating appropriate communications to our customers and escalating cases in line with procedures and wider legislation

  • Engaging with those in low level arrears to prevent escalation into a legal proces

  • Effectively using IT to log details of all activity on customer accounts to include all incoming and outgoing calls, e-mails, written correspondence, and text messages ensuring relevant action is taken

  • Completing income and expenditure forms with customers and set up affordable repayment plans where payments in full cannot be made

  • Signposting and referring customers to external agencies for specialist money and debt advice when necessary

  • Assisting customers with budgeting and grant applications to assist in the maximisation of their income

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing

  • Experience working with customers within housing
