​We are currently partnering with a leading University based in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for an In-House Solicitor to join their team on a fixed-term basis, for 12-months.

This is a part-time position for 22.5 hours per week, with a salary band of £36,130 to £45,413 FTE (subject to experience) and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Undertaking a generalist role, spanning a range of university activities to include commercial contracts, procurement and construction projects, charity law, regulatory/compliance matters, data protection, research projects, intellectual property, safeguarding, equality issues, and student matters

• Negotiating and drafting contracts in consultation with colleagues across Academic and Professional Services departments

• Contributing to university projects, providing practical legal advice and guidance to non-qualified staff across a number of departments

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive

• Experience of Commercial Law
