Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Cardiff, who are on the look out for a for a Hybrid Housing Officer on a temporary 2-month contract. The position is due to start immediately, as our client needs someone who can hit the ground running.

The hourly rate of pay is negotiable around £18-£22 via an Umbrella Company, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have: used Microsoft Dynamics previously, have a basic DBS certificate, drive with have access to their own vehicle, and have proven experience of Housing Officer duties.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conduct viewings, sign ups and site visits as and when required, ensuring the viewing experience

  • Handle the collection of rent arrears from tenants, either via face to face, phone or email

  • Ensure all activities are within budgetary constraints, including estate services charge expenditure and support the Neighbourhood Manager in management of patch service charge budgets

  • Deal with Anti-Social Behaviour complaints, interviewed complainants and alleged perpetrators, recorded and collated evidence and mediated or actioned cases and attended court when required

  • Support the Neighbourhood Manager to undertake any incident management or customer complaint investigations including the analysis of trends

  • Serve NOSPs, NTQs and attending evictions

  • Liaise with internal services and external agencies to ensure appropriate care and ensuring support packages are delivered to vulnerable tenants

  • Ensure that accurate records are maintained of arrears actions, contacts, visits made and agreements reached

Experience required:

  • General housing: lettings, housing, allocations, ASB and income

  • Working with customers within housing

  • Covering a patch of properties

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • General tenancy compliance knowledge

  • Organisational skills – this role requires you to manager your own diary

  • People Skills – this role may involve dealing with challenging individuals
