Job description

We are currently working in partnership with fast-growing Housing Association based in Buckinghamshire, who are looking for a Systems Accountant to join their team on a 12 months fixed term contract.

The position will be 37 hours per week, offering a salary of £50,000 pa. Our client offers hybrid working, with 1 day on-site.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with experience working on integrated finance systems, as well as project managing system upgrades. Experience within the Social Housing sector would be highly desirable.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensuring that the finance systems are sufficient and relevant to support users’ needs

  • Configure and deliver accurate information for analysis, forecasting and specific business reports and projects

  • Build strong relationships with IT team and to be a finance lead in system changes and upgrades

  • Work closely with the Financial Services Manager and Financial Reporting manager to develop new reports, review and ensure that the adequate system controls are in place and to enhance workflow processes to improve system automation and interfaces

  • Manage the access matrices for all Finance Team members to ensure that the appropriate segregation of duties is maintained for each role

  • Ensure financial systems documentation is maintained and updated on a regular basis including user friendly training guides

  • Establish strong relationship with IT teams, to project manage the implementation of finance systems projects as part of the Agile IT programme. This might include implementation of new financial software and changes / upgrades to existing software

  • Lead on change management initiatives to ensure any transition to the new system is managed effectively and the team are fully engaged and trained

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm (flexible hours offered)

  • Hybrid – 1 day on-site per week

Experience required:

  • CCAB part qualified as a minimum

  • Experience of complex accounting/financial systems and proficient in Microsoft Excel - able to work with complicated financial spreadsheets
