Job description

​We are currently working in partnership with a prestigious Arts Institution based in Central London who are looking to appoint a Finance Officer on a full time basis and they are offering a generous working from home package, 1-2 days on site per week.

This position is a three-month temporary role with possible extension/ the likelihood to become a permanent role. The permanent salary on offer is £30,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the Accounts payable processes and have the ability to hit the ground running from the get go.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Supervising the maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes for the main company and trading subsidiary

  • Provide financial support and business partnering to various departments and stakeholders

  • Manage financial transactions, invoice processed as well as ensuring accurate income and expenditure processing in line with agreements

  • Support with month end reporting up to trial balance, accruals, pre-payments and journals

  • Deliver timely and reliable financial reports to support decision-making

  • Monitor and report on cost recovery and financial performance against service agreements

  • Engaging with external stakeholders on financial matters

Skills, knowledge and experience required:

  • Experience using the PS Financials finance system would be desirable

  • A strong understanding of the payables process within a finance function

  • The ability to work to deadlines and under pressure and hit the ground running

  • Ability to organise and prioritise work as well as work on own initiative

  • Excellent computer literacy skills, including a high degree of proficiency with spreadsheets and interrogating a computerised accounts system

  • Ability to work under pressure, in a flexible manner and maintaining attention to detail

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday to Friday

  • Hybrid working set up: 1 – 2 days on site per week
