Job description
We are currently working in partnership with an award-winning reputable homeless charity, who are looking to appoint an Employment Support Worker on a 1 month rolling contract.
This will be a temporary position based in South London, of 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9am – 5pm. The position is due to start immediately and pays £21.65 via Umbrella or £18.45 PAYE.
The ideal candidate will have excellent IT skills, excellent written English and experience working with vulnerable adults or homeless clients. They will also hold an enhanced DBS taken out in the last 3 years.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Managing a caseload of roughly 15-20 clients who have low – medium mental health needs in getting back into work and advising how they can improve their skillets
Advising on employment welfare and benefits
Assisting clients to write their CVs and apply for jobs
Providing regular coaching sessions, mentoring, careers advice and guidance
Supporting local residents with mental health needs to find and sustain employment
Experience required:
IT skills, strong written English
Recruitment/ Employment advisor
Experience working with vulnerable adults / homeless clients / clients with learning disabilities / mental health needs
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Strong communication
Good organisational and time management skills
Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team
Risk assessment and management
Experience of supporting vulnerable people or groups
Working hours:
37.5 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
