We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in the North-West, who are recruiting for an Education & Adult Social Care Lawyer on a locum basis.

The position is due to start immediately, and the hourly rate of pay is negotiable dependent on candidate expectations and PQE.

The ideal candidate will have experience carrying an education caseload, and will be qualified as a Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Carrying a mixed caseload of Education and Adult Social Care matters
• Handling advocacy in the Court of Protection, the Special Educational Needs Tribunal and other tribunals
• Preparing bundles, skeleton arguments and statements ensuring full compliance with legislation and guidance
• Attending relevant meetings where applicable, including Safeguarding Board meetings, Joint Partnership Groups, and Legal Gateway meetings

Experience required:

• Experience required in Local Government
• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive

Working hours:

• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
