We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Kent, who are recruiting for a Disrepair Manager on a temporary five-month contract. The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go full time. The daily rate of pay is between £400 – £500 via an Umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will experience of managing complex disrepair cases and an understanding of relevant legislations
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Act as Lead Officer, for investigating and defending disrepair/EPA cases, working in conjunction with the legal team to oversee cases relating to the Defective Premises Act, Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act and Fitness for Human Habitation ActEnsure regular review of changes to legislationOversee the resolution of a caseload of routine, complex and potentially sensitive legal cases, including advice on repair obligations, staff training, and reporting to the Building Safety Task Force and Leadership GroupResponsible for ensuring that all disrepair legal reports, surveys, documentation, data and supporting evidence etc is properly collated in the required formats and presented to legal representatives within required strict timescalesAct as Lead Officer for Damp & Mould developing our strategy, data management and handling of cases Driving excellent customer service and sound commercial decision-making and taking responsibility for making things happenContracts Manager for consultants and contractors supporting the delivery of the service ensuring KPIs and objectives and being met through regular performance meetingsManaging the disrepair budgets and highlighting any risks of overspending to managementExperience required:
Experience in disrepair and case managementExtensive proven experience of working under the disrepair action protocolExperience communicating with internal and external stakeholders using various mediaExtensive proven experience in implementing strong performance improvementSkills, knowledge and expertise required:
An understanding of the Fitness for habitation act, housing law and the Landlords and Tenants ActAbility to demonstrate a customer-focused approach to identifying solutions to casesAbility to work under own initiative, manage competing priorities and problem solveStrong negotiation and influencing skills within a high-pressure environmentRewards and Benefits:
