Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a public sector client based in the Midlands, who are recruiting for a Damp, Mould & Major Works Surveyor on a permanent basis, with a salary of £45,000 to £50,000 per annum. The position is due to start as soon as possible. Our client will also consider interim options for this position.
The ideal candidate will have vast experience of tackling Damp, Mould, Disrepair and Major Works within social housing.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Leading damp, mould, and disrepair projects from start to finish. This role involves diagnosing issues, specifying solutions, procuring resources, and overseeing project progress
Overseeing major repair projects from initiation to completion
Conducting property inspections to identify causes of damp, mould, and disrepair
Managing insurance claims and structural damp projects, including situations that require resident relocation
Identifying and implementing effective solutions for managing and reducing damp and mould, including repairs, ventilation systems, humidity control measures, and providing guidance to residents
Handling contractor administration tasks, including preparing Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Works and Specifications
Managing contractors by conducting quality inspections at various stages, including pre-start assessments, ongoing quality checks, and final sign-offs
Maintaining CRM systems to track project progress
Certifying contractor valuations and claims
Experience/Qualifications required:
Experience required in Social Housing
Expert knowledge of damp, mould and legal disrepair
Experience of working on major works projects
A background of working with customers within housing
A minimum qualification of HNC or equivalent
