Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Oxfordshire, who are recruiting for a permanent Damp and Mould Technical Officer. The position is due to start immediately, with the annual salary being £42,301 per annum.
The ideal candidate will have experience tackling Damp and Mould, ideally within social housing and must hold a UK Driving License.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Managing damp & mould cases, carrying out inspections in empty and tenanted properties to diagnose damp and mould issues, as well as overseeing any remedial works required
Providing technical advice to colleagues and dealing with tenant enquiries/complaints regarding damp and mould
Conducting proactive and preventative damp and mould inspections and producing technical written reports evidencing causes and detailing recommendations for remedying issues
Following prescribed workflows and producing an audit trail and electronic record of all damp and mould inspections, work completed from initial report to full remediation
Supporting and monitoring contractors’ delivery of damp and mould solutions to ensure jobs are completed on time, to required standard and within budget
Liaising with contractors to agree works, including any variations, raise orders, monitor workmanship, carry out pre- and post-work inspections and process invoices
Providing details specifications where required and tendering repair works
Experience required:
Experience required in Social Housing
Experience working with customers within housing
Previous Damp and Mould surveying experience
HHSRS knowledge, ideally from social housing setting
Experience of diagnosing the full range of damp and mould issues and producing detailed written reports evidencing the cause of the problem and detailing any recommendations
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
A sound technical knowledge of building construction.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to take ownership of tasks and work autonomously, accurately and flexibly
Commitment to delivering focused customer service and an enthusiastic and positive approach
Good IT skills
Ability to work flexibly, occasional out of normal office hours

Working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 8.30am-5pm
