Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a local authority based in Oxfordshire, who are looking to appoint a Construction Lawyer on an initial 3-month locum basis.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, and they are ideally looking for someone to attend office once per month in Oxford. The hourly rate is negotiable depending on PQE and candidate expectations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience dealing with high-value infrastructure projects, and will have specific experience within the public sector.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Acting as a non-contentious construction lawyer with comprehensive understanding of, and experience of, drafting NEC and JCT Contracts
Managing a varied caseload of high-value infrastructure projects
Providing legal and procurement advice, including advising on the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and dealing with procurements via Framework Agreements
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulation and policies, whilst providing advice on public procurement regulations and tendering processes
Experience required:
Contracts & Procurement Law, particularly dealing with infrastructure projects
Local Authority experience
Working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday – Friday
Potential capacity for part-time hours
