Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority who are recruiting for a Construction Lawyer on an initial 3-month locum basis. The position is due to start immediately, can be carried out on a remote basis, and is offering an hourly rate between £50 - £60 p/hour via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working on a varied caseload of high-value infrastructure projects, and be a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Acting as a non-contentious construction lawyer with comprehensive understanding of, and experience of, drafting NEC and JCT Contracts

  • Managing a varied caseload of high-value infrastructure projects

  • Providing legal and procurement advice, including advising on the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and dealing with procurements via Framework Agreements

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulation and policies, whilst providing advice on public procurement regulations and tendering processes

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Public Sector
  • Must be a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
