Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in the East Midlands, who are recruiting for a home-based Complaints Officer (Repairs) on a temporary four-month contract.
The role is a part time position and the hourly rate of pay is £18.00 per hour on an umbrella basis.
The ideal candidate will have experience of dealing with complaints, ideally within a social housing background and have knowledge of the housing ombudsman code.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Providing support to tackle an increase and backlog in repairs complaints made by residents within council-owned properties
Investigating predominantly Stage 2 complaints from the Property Services team, investigating causes and co-ordinating responses effectively
Updating and communicating with all complainants throughout the process of complaints investigations
Ensuring all complaints are handled in line with the Housing Ombudsman code of practice
Drafting responses and provide informative information and facts to senior staff in order to make final decisions and sign offs
Analysing previous complaints and reports to identify patterns and trends
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Ideally have experience in dealing with Stage 2 complaints from a Property Services team within a Local Authority
Handling complaints in line with the Housing Ombudsman code of practice
The ability to build relations with residents
Proven experience of handling difficult calls
Working hours:
25 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 3pm
