Job description

We are proud to be partnering with a Housing Association based in Bedfordshire, who seek to build and maintain thriving homes and communities. They are in search of an Allocations Officer to join their driven team on a temporary basis.

This will be a full-time contract lasting two months initially. After a training period, it will require office attendance one day per week.

The hourly rate for this role will be £19.60 per hour via an Umbrella Company.

The ideal candidate will have extensive administrative skills and experience working with Housing Allocations.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Making decisions on the suitability of Housing applicants for properties in terms of needs, affordability, and previous tenancy conduct

  • Maximising income through minimising rent loss resulting from vacant properties

  • Providing an attentive and tailored to customers, responding to any inquiries in a timely and effective manner

  • Ensuring all changes to tenancies such as assignments, including mutual exchanges and successions, are completed in line with company legislation

  • Responding promptly to any customer giving notice to terminate a tenancy, and completing exit interviews as necessary

  • Setting up accurate tenancy records following new sign-ups

  • Liaising with external agencies and local authorities in order to request nominations

  • Maintaining accurate records and keeping systems up to date at all times

Experience required:

  • Working in a customer-focused environment

  • Navigating Housing systems and completing administrative tasks

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of the team

  • Knowledge of tenancy management or allocating social housing

  • Clear communicator who is able to build strong relationships

Working hours:

  • 37.00 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 am
