Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Buckinghamshire, who are recruiting for an Administrative Assistant (Electrical) on a temporary three-month contract. The hourly rate of pay is £16 via an Umbrella company, and is negotiable dependent on experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience with providing administrative and clerical support services to an electrical team ideally within a Housing Association, and hold a full UK driving license.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • To provide a high quality administrative function to the Electrical Team

  • Monitoring Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarm, AOV’s & other electrical compliance servicing schedules and ensure all sites have valid compliance certificates

  • Processing all invoices in relation to electrical services

  • Attending meetings as required

  • Updating compliance spreadsheets and administrative records

  • Providing monthly reports as instructed

  • Assisting planners in the raising of works orders as required

  • Updating appliance warranties i.e. Showers / Storage heaters

  • Liaising directly with Fairhive trade operatives & contractors when required

  • Use a wide range of IT & software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post including attending meetings outside of normal working hours

Experience required:

  • Proficient in minute taking

  • Experience as an administrator in a multidisciplinary environment e.g. a repairs and maintenance business

  • Experience of providing high quality of administrative support for a team or managers

  • Has previous experience at a Housing Association

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Ability to research and collate information to enable reports to be prepared

  • Ability to plan and co-ordinate work

  • Ability to priorities workloads and meet deadlines

  • Excellent organizational, time management and periodisation skills

  • Proven ability to undertake specific projects on behalf of the Head of Property Services

  • Organised approach to record keeping

  • Ability to respond to customers in person and on the telephone who may be anxious or distressed

  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety at Work Act

  • Previous Public sector/Social Housing repairs experience

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday to Friday
