Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Not For Profit organisation based in Reading, who are recruiting for a Volunteering Coordinator on a temporary 6 month contract. The position is due to start immediately with the potential to be extended, and can be completed fully remote. The rate of pay will be circa £15 an hour.

The ideal candidate must have previous experience working within a fast paced environment, being the first point of contact for all administrative support and queries. The successful candidate must be extremely empathetic and possess an Enhanced DBS.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide effective administrative support to Volunteers and key internal stakeholders acrossthe charity, focusing on delivering the required number of volunteers to fulfil specific wish and event requirements during this period

  • Be a point of contact for Volunteers daily, liaising with them regarding their event/wish role, activities, training, and any accessibility and logistical requirement

  • Liaise with external stakeholders in relation to volunteers needed for wishes/events, including booking volunteers onto training and briefing sessions

  • Deal with Volunteer queries and solve issues in a manner aligned with charity

  • Organise logistical event -related bookings for Volunteers

Experience skills and knowledge required:

  • Experience working within a fast paced environment

  • Experience working within an environment that requires individuals to have empathy

  • High level of IT skills

  • Be able to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to be able to prioritise an ever-changing workload. 

  • Confidence working within a team environment but also able to work autonomously where appropriate

  • The ability to problem-solve and make appropriate decisions independently – or seek advice and support when required. 

  • Experience of working with volunteers and associated CRM systems such as Salesforce, Assemble and DBS Screening service platforms
