Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in the East Midlands, who are recruiting for a Surveyor, on a temporary three to four month contract. The position is due to start immediately. The daily rate of pay is up to £250 per day via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate must have worked in a similar role within social housing, worked with a CRM system and hold a full UK Driving License.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Carrying out a range of surveys and property inspections including stock condition surveys and pre, post and work in progress inspections relating to the property stock

  • Surveying, evaluating, programming, implementing, overseeing, and certifying schedules of work within the district in empty (void) properties, including quality control inspections

  • Monitoring and managing the delivery of day-to-day void works, raising and issuing orders and ensuring repairs are updated

  • Working with other stakeholders and supervising planned works on site and contributing to and attending contractor procurement consortium and related meetings as required

  • Ensuring customer needs are properly understood and works are completed to a good standard and in line with the organisations policy and procedures

  • Ensuring contractors and suppliers perform to specification and contractual terms, working with the Contracts Manager and Head of Property to identify and overcome any barriers

  • Completing up to 7/8 property inspections per day

  • Visiting properties in order to undertake initial inspections to diagnose damp and mould

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing

  • Experience working with customers within housing

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Risk assessment and management

  • Compliance and due diligence

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday

  • There is no working from home offered for this role
