Job description

We are currently partnering with a Birmingham based public sector organisation, who are recruiting for a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team on a temporary 3–6-month basis.

This is a full-time position with a daily rate of C. £600 UMB. The role offers predominantly home working, with occasional office presence in Birmingham.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Preparing and submitting Intrastat and VAT returns for all subsidiaries, reviewing significant movements and presenting at monthly VAT reviews
  • Reconciling VAT Control account and managing VAT Suspense account
  • Providing tax advice on complex transactions
  • Reviewing current VAT processes and reports to achieve efficiency savings
  • Designing and delivering VAT training to wider finance team
  • Liaising with HMRC and providing support regarding VAT queries
  • Providing year-end support relating to VAT
  • Experience required:

  • Public sector experience is desired
  • Extensive experience in VAT management and VAT return submission is essential
  • CCAB/ QBE is essential
