We are currently partnering with a Local Government based in East Midlands, who are recruiting for a Senior Litigation Solicitor to join their Housing team on a temporary basis of 6-months.

This is a full-time position with a negotiable rate depending on experience.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Undertaking the more complex matters undertaken by the team in the areas of housing, housing litigation and/or antisocial behaviour and related work

• Conducting the most complex legal proceedings in the areas of housing, housing litigation and/or antisocial behaviour and related work as required, including/;

• Preparation of all aspects of cases

• Representation of the Council including advocacy as required in the Magistrates, County and High Courts, tribunals, inquiries and representing management at internal appeals

• Supervising Solicitors, Legal Executives, Trainee Solicitors and other staff as from time to time required by the Team Leader and to have line management responsibility for members of staff as identified by the Team Leader

Experience required:

• Evidence of understanding of legal work carried out in local government.

• Ability to organise own workload and work under pressure with minimum supervision.

• Experience of dealing with complex drafting work.
