Job description

We are currently partnering with a leading law firm in the UK specialising in providing legal services to public sector and not-for-profit organisations., who are recruiting for a Senior Litigation Lawyer to join their growing team on a temporary 3 month basis.

This is a full-time position with a negotiable rate and the start date is as soon as possible. This role is hybrid with office attendance required once a week.                                                                         

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing legal advice and services to client organisations on a wide range of public law and litigation matters, including civil actions and judicial review matters to ensure compliance with statutory duties and obligations
  • Advising upon and conducting proceedings relating to the care and protection of children and young people to secure the proper course of action and balanced and favourable judgements
  • Supervising junior members of the litigation team to ensure the provision of high quality, well researched and comprehensive legal advice, as well as deputising for the Principal Lawyer where required
  • Representing clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties in matters regarding the areas of legal practice relevant to the post
  • Attending courts and tribunals undertaking advocacy where required

The ideal candidate will have experience looking at Adult Social Care Debt Recovery and previous Local Government experience, in addition to the following areas of Litigation:

  • Contract and commercial disputes
  • Housing Disrepair
  • Insurance claims
  • Judicial review
  • Planning disputes
  • Education and SEN
  • Environmental issues

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • They are also open to offering condensed hours
